LWMTA Board Members

- Selina Chu, NCTM, has enjoyed an active teaching and performing career for over 26 years. She is a performing member of Seattle Ladies Musical Club and will accompany the Seattle Jewish Chorale for their 2010-11 season. Selina holds an M.M. from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and a BM from the University of Washington. Much in demand as an adjudicator and clinician, she is well-known for her sense of humor and unfortunate inability to carry a tune.

- Connie Wible is the Owner of Musical Mind Piano Studio on Mercer Island, WA She has been performing and teaching for over 35 years. Her latest projects have been Founder and Co-Director of the MI Music Tech Camp, Developing a Keyboard Therapy Program for special needs children and adults, and just composed music for a coaching radio show. She released a CD in 2007 of her original piano solos, "Journey of the Heart". Connie is know for her ability to create wild and diverse projects. It is a good thing some of them actually work!

- Dr. Nicole Kim has studied piano since she was 4 years old beginning with her mother first. With the encouragement of her maternal grandfather, who also played multiple instruments including violin, mandolin, and Korean Flute, she learned singing German Lied from him at age 5. She had her orchestral debut at age 11 performing Mozart Concerto K488. After moving to the United States she studied with great piano teachers such as Robert Turner, Daniel Pollack, Eduardo Delgado, and Mac McCray. Especially with Mr. Turner as well as Mr. Pollack, who was a student of Madam Lhevinne, she learned keen observation with fluent technique, while Mr. Delgado taught her lyricism, and Mr. McCray the joy of piano. Later she studied impressionism with renowned Fulbright Scholar of French music, Ms. Nancy Bricard. Her harpsichord teacher was none other than late Mr. Malcolm Hamilton, the great Canadian born harpsichordist. As a winner of numerous competitions such as the Joanna Hodges International Piano competition, she has been concertizing in the states as well as abroad. Her interest in various kinds of music led her to appreciate and perform extensive repertoires. She has been an educator and adjudicator in both the U.S. as well as abroad.

- Stan Watkins holds a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Seattle Pacific University. After 20 years in church ministry, with an emphasis on music ministry, and 6 years as a small business owner in the Seattle area, Stan has returned to the piano, his first love. He offers private lessons in Kirkland and Mercer Island, with an emphasis on comprehensive musicianship.

- Nobuko Hasegawa brings over three decades of international study and experience to her performances and teaching. She holds a M.M. in both piano performance and chamber music/accompanying from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, and B.M. from Mukogawa Women's University, Kobe, Japan. She currently lives in Redmond and offers both private and group lessons.
